One-Line Bio

I'm a purveyor of hope and optimism.

Biography

I was born in 1969 when our hope as a nation was defined by a trip to the moon. Maybe that's why I love stories of hope and optimism so much. Or, maybe it's just because I'm a lifelong Cubs fan and hope is all we've had for decades.

Whatever the case, I hang my hat in Indianapolis with my wife and our two kids. I'm a public affairs consultant who started out as a journalist. I followed in Letterman's footsteps by graduating from Ball State University. And I love my life. I've been blessed in more ways than I deserve and I'm interested in finding different ways to give back.

I hope you find something in this blog that draws you in. I'll try to post every weekday. Enjoy the ride and when you have a minute, share some of the things that inspire you. All I ask is that you remain true to the spirit of this blog. Be hopeful. Be optimistic. And if you don't have anything nice to stay...well, you know the rest.

Together, we'll bring the hope to each other. Be well.

Interests

I'm interested in people doing inspiring things around the world. Their stories bring me hope. So, I've set out to chronicle and celebrate human achievement. Beyond that, I dig spending time with my family and friends, going to the movies, taking in live music, eating good food, going outside to cycle or kayak, listening to my iPod, talking politics, drinking strong coffee, reading good books and giving back.
